30 August 1915: Colliery Roadsman Killed - Yesterday morning, James Hunter (41), colliery roadsman, 2 Anderson Street, Greenfield was killed while at work in No.2 Pit, Greenfield Colliery, Hamilton. He had gone to execute a repair on the side of the road, when he was caught by a fall from the roof and although he was speedily extricated, life was found to be extinct.
