- On December 15th, 1904, the deceased was dressing a sore on a pony in underground stables when the pony slipped and fell on his leg. He was medically attended at the Sheffield Royal Infirmary, but died as a result of the injury. There had been outbreak of glanders at this mine whether his death was in any way to this disease or from blood poisoning the jury at the inquest were unable determine.
