Fall of ground at the face where not above 9 or 10 feet high. Other parts of the quarry are much deeper, and over 20 feet. He had undercut some distance, and was working alone for the Stroud Rural District Council, and was not missed or sought for until the next morning, when he was found dead. His wife was not alarmed at his not returning home in the evening owing to his habits.
