- Details of Event
- Deceased and another, neither of when appeared to have had much experience, were getting sand and gravel in a quarry at a point where the face was 19 feet in depth and nearly vertical. A fall took place without giving any warning, completely burying deceased, who was dead when extricated. The discoloration of the face indicated that water had been percolating down in sand cracks, but the survivor stated to me at the inquest that it had never occurred to him to look for such cracks.
