- Details of Event
- Deceased and others were stripping the baring 10 feet in depth off a bed of limestone, working a face 15 yards broad and leaving a nearly vertical side on their right. Deceased was standing between the shafts, of a wheelbarrow close to the side and about 3 yards from tire face, when a fall of clay took place from what appeared to be a sand crack in the side. About 5 or 6 tons of soil and clay came away, threw him over the barrow, and caused injuries which resulted in his death almost immediately.
