Died 17th February 1903. Deceased and two other men were timbering on the engine plane and while deceased was holding up one end of a baulk one of his mates the other end an man putting in a middle- prop as a temporary support a small quantity of stone fell and all appeared to have attempted to jump clear and caught his foot against the rail and the balk fell on his back an injured his spine. He lingered close to death unable to work and as death took place more than a year after the accident it is not included.
