Details of Event
He was working with another miner in a broken working near the outcrop. The roof was of a clayey nature for a thickness of some 6 inches and had often to be taken down. Some clay fell, and deceased was coming out from the face when a further fall occurred and knocked him against the side of the place. This blow against the hard side fractured several ribs, causing them to pierce his right lung. He died later in the day in Eaton Cottage Hospital.
