Fall of roof in a roadway which he was called to by the haulier to examine and put right. He acted as an official more or less and was in the habit of taking the position of fireman in case of one being absent. The road was in a bad state and not in working order, but as far as the accident is concerned, he appears to have misjudged the conditions and knocked a lag, which was loose, with his hand to remove it, whereupon the fall occurred and injured him fatally. The management was much to blame for the condition of the road.
