Two horses hitched together were pulling, at a smart pace, a tram of coal out of the face of a heading dipping 4 inches per yard. Deceased was riding on the "gun" when his head came in contact with a collar, 4 feet 10 inches above the rail. The timbers on either side were 15 inches higher.
