He had just got under the coal to resume holing at the face when without warning a large piece of coal fell and killed him. The fall disclosed three slips one on end and one on the bord and the third commencing from the floor at the face leaning over the solid coal the whole forming a pyramid of coal unsupported to the base of the holing. The place was well timbered.
