- Four men were working as mates in a gate. One was getting stone down in the tipping and the others were working at the coal face and tramming the coal out to the passbye in the gate. The deceased was bringing a tub out under the ripping when a piece of stone 7ft. long by 7ft. 6in by 1 foot 3 inches thick fell upon and killed him. This accident was due to timber not being set after the stone in the ripping was taken down.
