The accident occurred in No.2 bead, and was caused by a fall of roof, 4 yards by 3 yards by 20 ins. thick, from surrounding joints without previous warning. The height of the working is from 30 to 33 ft. The roof had been tested by the foreman before the commencement of the shift, and he considered it to he secure. Since the accident happened the Manager has decided to rip down the whole of the 20in. bed in order to reach a stronger roof.
