He was bringing a railway truck down the siding to join another truck which was standing. The truck was running by its own gravitation and he was standing on the front buffer regulating the pace by putting on the brake with one foot. When the trucks bumped be was thrown off and his leg cut. Blood poisoning supervened and he died on 28th October.
