When pulling coal down from the face a piece rolled against his leg and broke it. The cause of death was embolism due to inflammation of the lungs. He died on the 29th and the doctor stated it probably was the result of the accident. This is one of those cases in which even the doctor would only say that the accident probably was due to the accident and it remains more or less uncertain.
