- Fall of roof in roadway near to face, engaged ripping roof for height, fall came from two converging slips, both had been exposed to view for some distance. The stone grazed the leg of another man who narrowly escaped. It ought to have been taken down. A fireman visited the men an hour before the accident and said not one word about the slips, altogether failed to perform his duty. The stone was 2 feet 7 inches thick and weighed about a ton. (Average roof).
