Details of Event
While hewing with his marrow in a broken working in the Main Band a fall of roof suddenly occurred. Six inches of coal was left to keep up four feet of cash which was of a very friable nature. The coal prevented the presence of a slip being detected. The lift was holed and only a few tubs of coal remained to be filled. The working was apparently well timbered several props being within 3 feet of the face.
