Fall of roof on road. While filling from a large heap of coal which had been drawn down from a place rising 1 in 2 a pounce was heard in the roof and several props collapsed which caused an 18ins bed of shale to fall. He was caught by the broken timbers when hurrying away and was crushed against a tram. The timbering of the rise place was not sufficiently close to support the roof in so wide an area of open space when extracting large pillars of coal. Cribbwr seam. Safety lamps.
