May 1915: Fauldhouse – Pit Accident – A young man named Robert Barrie, residing in Fauldhouse sustained serious injuries while at work in Greenrigg Colliery. A fall came away from the roof unexpectedly and pinned the unfortunate man underneath. After being attended by Dr Gilchrist he was conveyed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.
