- Details of Event
- Deceased’s cravat became entangled with the driving shaft of a picking belt at the screens, and, before the engine could be stopped he had sustained such serious injuries that he died on the following day. This shaft runs under the flooring of the screens, and to have been caught by it he must have climbed on top of some waggons of rubbish which were standing under the platform. He had no oiling to do, and had been instructed not to leave the engine house.
