Deceased was engaged in getting off some side in a landing 9 feet high to make room for a wooden cog. A few minutes before the accident, the fireman in passing noticed a portion of the side from the roof downwards was slightly overhanging, and told deceased to pull this down with a bar. Instead of doing this, deceased was using a dresser, either trying to pull the piece or to liberate the bottom of it, when the rock fell from the side and so severely injured him that he died a few hours later.
