- Details of Event
- Died October 12th. Deceased who had complained of feeling unwell during the course of his shift became worse near the end of it and was taken outbye in a tub. He seemed to be rambling in his mind and spoke of a fall of stone having injured him. He was taken home and examined by a doctor who found slight signs of bruising over the top of the right hip. He worked no more. His working place was examined but no indications of any fall of stone were observed. A post-mortem examination was made and an inquest held. Medical evidence showed that death was caused by peritonitis arising from the bursting of an abscess of old standing surrounding the kidney and so the Jury found that what caused the rupture there was no evidence to show.
