Details of Event
Upon the instructions of the fireman, deceased and his partner had taken out two low pairs of timber and ripped down some yards of roof up to an apparently sound bed. As deceased was throwing rubbish back to his mate, a piece of the overlying bed of cliff, 6.5 feet by 5 feet by 2 feet thick, fell on him and inflicted injuries from which he died next day. Four feet seam.
