Deceased was injured while drawing a tree in the waste of a Bass Seam stall. He loosened the lid of the tree which was in the fourth rank of the face and was preparing to knock it out, when a large piece of rock, 15 ins. thick, fell from the roof nearer the face at a previously unseen slip breaking off the ends of three lids. Falling upon deceased it fractured his spine, and he also sustained a compound fracture of the left leg; he died on Nov 18th from exhaustion consequent upon these injuries.
