He, for some unexplained reason, went into some old workings, and was found drowned in a ‘swilley,’ where the water was only 2 feet deep. He had left his lamp on a stone by the water edge. All the circumstances point either to suicide or his having lost his memory. The jury at the inquest returned a verdict of ‘Accidentally drowned.'
