He was seen by a rider on the engine plane on his way to get some lamps relit near the entrance to a return airway. The rider told him to stay in the airway till he had run the empty journey into the parting and the full journey out. He evidently did not wait for the full journey which ran over him his body being found 92 yards outbye of the airway.
