Some coal at the face had been blown down by a shot fired electrically. Hemsworth, who was learning how to fire shots electrically, leaned against a prop which had been loosened by the fall. The prop fell out, allowing, a piece of stone b feet by 4 feet 6 inches to fall on Hemsworth, whose skull was fractured. Another man was injured.
