- When engaged at the work of emptying dirt wagons on a surface mound which was on fire he was overcome by the fumes and suffocated. He had been seen alive, apparently well, at his work at 5 p.m. on the 11th, and his body was found at 5.30 next morning. The doctor at the inquest said the deceased was probably unfit for the occupation and having fainted, was overcome by the fumes cause of death being asphyxia due to carbon monoxide poisoning.
