- Details of Event
- A small piece of stone fell from roof and cut him head, He bled freely, but no serious results were anticipated. He was off work till the 22nd October, when he returned to work, and after working a hard shift he walked to the shaft, and while waiting to ascend the shaft he died. The doctor, who made a post mortem examination of the body, was of the opinion that death was due solely to natural causes, but another doctor who was present, and who attended the deceased man for the accident, was of the opinion that death was accelerated by loss of blood due to the injury, and the jury at the inquest took this view and returned a verdict accordingly.
