Fall of roof at face. While cutting coal at the face, a wedge-shape stone of about two cwts fell upon his head and fractured his skull. The roof supports were not set to the maximum distance arranged under the Special Rules for this mine. The props should not have exceeded five feet apart, but an area of 60 square feet of roof was unsupported. Victoria seam. Naked lights.
