Deceased, who was an experienced and authorised shot-firer had charged a shot hole on the side, of a gate road with Stowite. He illegally allowed his assistant to have charge of the battery and firing handle, and by some misunderstanding the shot was fired while Hassan was close to it. He was fatally injured.
