- 14 August 1916: Cambuslang Miner Killed - Thomas Harvie, a mining contractor, who resided at 50 Church Street, Cambuslang, died in the Glasgow Royal Infirmary yesterday as the result of being crushed by a fall of stone in Priory colliery, Blantyre. He was 42 years of age, and leaves a widow and a family of seven. [Scotsman 15 August 1916]
