- The accident occurred in a Thick Coal stall Deceased was about to set a prop to support the White Coal and while preparing a footing for it a piece of coal 2.5 feet by 2.5 feet by 12 inches thick, fell from a height of 14 feet and fractured his skull. He died on the following day. The stall had been unworked for a week previous to the day of the accident and had shown no sign of any change. The roof was tested by the fireman within three hours of the accident and appeared to be safe.
