He was engaged with his brother on a scaffold 23 feet from the ground scraping and cleaning the iron girders of a new heapstead and making them ready for the concrete. The scaffold consisted of one or more planks resting on projecting poles and they were moved about as required. The accident was due to the deceased attempting to move a plank without assistance, when it fell off the pole at the other end and he overbalanced himself and fell on to some loose girders which were lying on the ground.
