Standing in a waggon repairing screen, waggon three-quarter filled with slack, foreman of surface lowered six waggons on the same line of rails; intended to stop them a few yards from the fixed waggon allowed the waggons to travel too fast so that when he put the break on it did not act quick enough, rails greasy also; alleged that he slipped when running to put a second break down. The six waggons bumped into the standing waggon, sending it forward several feet. Deceased was crushed under a girder in a space of 6 inches; another man managed to jump on to the girder, and another man escaped injury by crouching by the side of waggon.
