Harrison was deputed to watch the running of the pulleys carrying a new endless rope put in to convey power for haulage purposes from the surface to the workings underground. It was carried round certain sharp turns by horizontal pulleys 5ft. in diameter. Deceased was found cut completely in two at one of these turns, having been drawn in between the rope and pulley while they were in motion, or alternatively, he evidently might have been examining the bearings while the pulleys wore at rest and been caught when they started.
