Deceased was found lying dead in an engine dip (inclination 1 in 4) in the Banbury seam. He lied been run over by an empty tub which had become uncoupled from a journey which was being lowered down the dip. Deceased had proceeded some 24 yards up the dip to attend to a pump some minutes before the occurrence. The pump was in a recess, and deceased had had ample time to reach it before the tub ran amain. No definite reason could be given for his presence in the dip.
