- Details of Event
- Fall of roof on the road about 12 yards back from the face of the heading and opposite the entrance to a stall road. The full train was being pushed out by the collier, as the road was crushed and too low for the horse. At this point a very heavy fall occurred directly over the tram and caught the boy who was standing at the corner of the stall road. A repairer was working close to the spot, preparing for standing double timber, and whether his work brought about the fall, or the tram disturbed the double timber, is uncertain. The other men had very narrow escapes.
