- He was getting coal from a narrow rib between two faces which had been driven in opposite directions, when a large fall occurred from two converging slips in the roof and buried him. Only one of these slips was visible before the accident happened, the other was uncovered by the working away of the coal. One prop was left standing, and possibly one or two were displaced by the fall. Bars should have bars used.
