- Details of Event
- He and his mate were relaying rails on a road, and with the alterations two props had to be taken out. Deceased struck one blow at one of them with his tomahawk, and immediately a large piece of rock fell from the roof at the side and killed him. The stone came away to a fine crack and to a concealed slip, and measured about 5 feet 6 inches by 8 feet, by 2 feet thick. The prop was not knocked out.
