- Details of Event
- He, with Frank Hardy, Trammer, was working the coal when a stone 7 feet long, 1 foot 9 inches wide and 1 foot 6 inches thick, weighing about 11 tons fell upon them, killing Moorhouse instantly and partially burying Hardy. The fall disclosed a smooth vertical slip at the back, running parallel with the coal face, and another converging slip which released the stone. Probably neither was visible before the fall.
