Details of Event
Died on the 15th August from a clot of blood stopping the circulation. It was alleged that death was the result of injury received on the 13th July at Celynen Colliery by a mandrill falling down the shaft and inflicting a small punctured wound to his knee, but which drew no blood. It was proved that he had recovered from that sufficiently to walk to Crumlin about two miles distance and that on returning he fell and fractured the same leg.
