Details of Event
Fatally burned by an explosion of firedamp in an old level which was being re-opened. They were clearing a large fall of roof 700 yards inbye of the mouth. The gas ignited at the naked light of one of the men whilst he was examining the place. No inspection was made before the men entered in accordance with General Rule IV. 4 killed.
