27 November 1942: Fatal Clay-Pit Mishap - An accident which occurred yesterday in the Drum clay pit, situated near Whitburn, and belonging to the United Collieries, Ltd., resulted in the death of Alexander Hamilton (56), Calder Crescent, Armadale.
