Details of Event
A scaffold was erected on the face of the quarry about 40 feet from the top on which the deceased stood while boring a hole for a shot. The face was on a "slide" and some distance above was some inferior rock. This mass of inferior rock suddenly slipped from its position and carried the scaffold and the men with it in its descent to the quarry bottom a distance of 10 feet. The person in charge for examining the face was not at his work and no one examined the face on the day of the accident. 2 killed.
