Whilst getting coal about 4 yards from the gate end in a longwall machine cut and conveyor face, the coal being 3 feet 6 inches thick with a poor roof, timbered every 3 feet along the face with sets of gears, a large stone came away from between the end of the gears and the coal face, a width of about 3 feet. A further larger fall occurred directly after, knocking all the timber out.
