- He was pulling some full wagons on to a weigh by means of a winch and when doing so a train of empty wagons which was being pushed by a Great Northern Railway Company’s locomotive, joined the full wagons and caused the handle of the winch to fly round and injure him severely on the head and back. The guard of the G.N.R train said he warned the deceased to stand clear as he was compelled to push the full wagons back to allow him to get the empty wagons into a siding, the points of which they were standing and although he (Haley) made no reply he appeared to understand what was going to be done.
