- Details of Event
- Deceased was hewing alone in a 5 yards wide bord, in a seam 5 feet thick. The seam was overlaid by a thin bed of ramble, and bord stone above that. He was kirving in the bottom when a piece of stone, shaped like an inverted saucer, fell on to him and broke his neck. The stone was 3 feet in diameter and 9 inches thick in the centre. The place was well timbered.
