Deceased and another labourer were stowing rubbish in the face of a stall. The other labourer was throwing rubbish from the road to deceased who was building the gob wall so as to pin the roof when a piece of the cliff roof, 8 t. by 3ft. by 13ins. thick fell and injured deceased so badly that he died in a few minutes. One prop, nearly underneath the centre of the stone, was crushed out. On each tide of the stone was a smooth slip. Red coal seam.
