Deceased with other men were in the bottom of a sinking pit, when a tube slung in the pit was being lowered, by means of a hand crab, geared on third motion, when the crab suddenly got out of gear, causing the rope to fall down the pit, and deceased was fatally injured by being struck by a portion of a bearer which got broken, and the falling rope.
