When in charge of an electric pump underground the deceased appeared to have taken hold of the electric cable, as the covering of the connector was found to have been drawn down at that point exposing the live wire about 1-8th of an inch. He died from the effects of electric shock. It was advised at the inquiry to have the electric pump house made larger, as the space around the electric pump was very limited.
